The Detroit Pistons ended the Joe D Era last season and now they usher in the Stan Van Gundy Era. S.V.G. will not only cook the groceries but he will do the shopping for them as well as he is Coach and President of OP's. Can he gets this talented roster headed north in the two-trick pony of the NBA central talking Bulls and Cavs?

The Roster is loaded up front with that front line of Josh Smith, Andre Drummond, and Greg Monroe who will come off the bench. Brandon Jennings is at the point as they picked up D.J. Augustin from the Bulls. The top free agent might be Augustin as Caron Butler also joins the Pistons along with former Lakers sniper Jodie Meeks. The Pistons are deep but lacks a true small forward as they will be shooting for the "Fight for Larry" starting in April 2015.

#DETROITbasketball 2014-15 Vitals

Franchise Piece (s): Andre Drummond, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Building Blocks: Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, Jodie Meeks, Tony Mitchell, Kyle Singler, D.J. Augustin

Top dancing Palace of Auburn Hills Usher (Pistons top rookie): Spencer Dinwiddie

Top Free Agent: D.J. Augustin

Sleeper Player (s): Augustin will help the Pistons as he is a traditional PG and he is complete opposite of Brandon Jennings as D.J. is the calm after the Jennings' storm.

Trade Pieces: The Pistons already moved PG Will Bynum to free up back up minutes for Augustin. Greg Monroe was the piece that was out there all summer long but he signed his qualifying offer of just over $5 million.

#DETROITbasketball 2014-15 Outlook 3rd in the Central

B-Jennings and D.J. Augustin will run the show with 2nd-year Orlando Magic summer league star Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at the shooting guard as his game is starting to come full circle. Jodie Meeks out with an injury to start the season will help K.C.P. stretch the hardwood on offense. Watch out for Pistons 2nd rounder and former Buffs PG Spencer Dinwiddie who at 6-6 is a delicious combo guard.

On the wing the Pistons may struggle a bit but they have the steady Kyle Singler from #DuekInTheNBA as well vet Caron Butler, Tony Mitchell, and Cartier Martin. If the Pistons lack depth at any one position its at the custodial position small forward.

The front line is where the meta and potatoes are at as J-Smoove, Mr., Drummond, and G-Monroe are the core and the engine of the Detroit Basketball. They picked up Joel Anthony from the Green Team and Aaron Gray to give that front line some depth. Jonas Jerebko like J-Smoove can step out into mid-range and the money ball rack to stretch the floor. The Pistons will go as far as that front line takes them and Mr. Drummond is due to breakout in 2014-15!

Can the Pistons make any rumblings in the central as it's a Bulls and Cavs world?
