The Minnesota T'Wolves trying to do things right psot David Kahn Era picked up some much-needed  rookie options. Center Gorgui Deng, SF Shabazz Muhammad, and PF/SF Anthony Bennett. 'Wolves pick up Dieng's 3rd-year option and that is huge as he proved to be worth the cash in the 2nd half of last season and with Nikola Pekovic also manning the paint the 'Wolves could be very formidable with Dieng as the rim protector.

Bazz and Bennett also get extended as the youth movement in 10K Lakes is filled with some young starts with all sorts of upside. Bazz spent time in the NBDL as he was ranked by many as the #1 prospect in HS out of Las Vegas Powerhouse Bishop Gorman.

Ironically enough he played against Bennett as Big Ant was one of the top 10 HS players in the class behind Bazz in the country at Findlay Prep HS in nearby Henderson, Nevada. Put those three players in the mix with PG "La Pistola" Ricky Rubio, Pekovic, Thaddeus Young, Pekoivic, Kevin Martin, and those two Nerf-Rim playing rooks in Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine...lookout Northwest division!

Out in Lakers Land dba Team 16 Chips at their swank El Segundo, California facility Kobe Bryant is lighting a fire but is it friendly fire. He made headlines last week by responding to the ESPN NBA Player rankings that had the "Black Mamba" of Nike Basketball ranked #40. Kobe responded in Kobe fashion as the media giant responded back with it's own article.

Look Kobe won't go quietly as he is living in the past and knows his time in the Logo is almost done. Now having said that if you were running up on "His Airness" in Michael Jeffrey Jordan's career points total and passing him at some point in the 2014-15 season "Arrogance" is not the word used here on Kobe's part. Kobe's earned all what he gets and of course when you tell him he is no longer at the top of anything he is going to respond in a negative tone.

If you really want to point the finger point it at Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak for giving Kobe $48 million for 24 months for past performance. That's what's wrong with American pro sports today as they will pay you to the end except in the NFL. MLB is so far out of whack with their contracts is ridiculous but that's a 365 day debate.  If the Lakers offered him a P.O. say $20 million for 24 months the Lakers would have been in a far better situation. Kobe will get his Statue but a parting gift of the highest paid player in the Logo 2014-2016...please!

Kobe has created his own monster headed towards 32K points and that is a credit a competitor like no other. At the same time the Lakers brass still views Kobe as a top-flier when he is no longer such. Now we get the "Black Mamba" internally taking shots as he has always been internally taking shots at the purple and gold that's not news!

Now there is $48 million on the books for 24 months for not the Black Mamba but a Gardner snake...yeah I went there no one beats father time...no one!

Kobe will always be Kobe period...from Kobe Bryant thinking "Come Fly with Me" to the Black Mamba and back to Kobe Bryant and that is pure 360 degrees!
