The Atlanta Hawks looking to capitalize off of a really good 2013-14 has a shot at winning the southeast. If All-Star Al Horford formerly of "Billy Ball" in the Swamp stays healthy lookout. Point God Jeff Teague is a "Monster inside 94 x 50" and he in a top-flight Logo lead man. Paul Milsap went to his 1st All-Star Weekend as a player and from the looks of the 2014-15 roster he will reside at the small forward maybe more than the power forward.
With things looking for the Highlight Factory 404 and that core the "Peach Drop 3" on the Hardwood in Jeff, Paul, and Big Al can they win the Southeast which will most likely run through the Wiz Kids D.C.?
the Highlight Factory 2014-15 Vitals
Franchise Piece (s): Big Al, Paul, Jeff
Building Blocks: Pero Antic, Kyle Korver, Adreian Payne, Dennis Schroder, DeMarre Carroll, Thabo Sefolosha, Shelvin Mack,
Top Varsity Dog Fryer (Hawks top rookie): Adreian Payne
Top Free Agent: Kent Bazemore
Sleeper Player (s): The Rook "House of Payne" from Izzone as you well know Sparty's players the four-year ones are NBA-ready defensively and this cat is long and athletic with a 7'1" wingspan and Nerf Rim capabilities. He was a steal as I though he should have been a Top 10 forget the hype it's real through that 82!
Trade Pieces: Will former #1 pick John Jenkins from Vandy ever be a factor as he is a shooter and the Hawks have "K2" in Creighton's Kyle Korver? Teams covet Spalding Ball rack players but "J2" has had his issues as his dribble-drive game is suspect to say the least and he is a little under-sized.
the Highlight Factory 2014-15 Outlook 2nd in the Southeast
Jeff Teague is solid and it looks like the plan will move him to some shooting guard or play off the orange with the emergence of 2nd year PG from Germany Dennis Schroder. Look also for 2014 free agent pick up Kent Bazemore to get some minutes at the point.
Korver is at the shooting guard and with Big Al Horford back doing his thing from mid-range and on the block that Hawks should get Korver even more looks. Shelvin Mack the former Butler Bulldog has found a home and he will man the 2 and the 1 with Thabo Sefolosha helping the Hawks on the wing on the defensive end.
That front line is underrated with Center Pero Antic who with Horford should become a nice 1-2 punch. All-Star Milsap playing off them and moving more to his natural slot the Wing should only help the Hawks be more explosive offensively.
Then you throw in 2014 top pick Adreian Payne and the Hawks should be real tough in the paint as he is a real rim protector and has the ability to go Nerf Rim and head out to Stone Mountain or Smyrna for the money ball. A versatile 'Big' and steal for the Hawks at #15 in the 1st round and teams a few years down the road will be saying why and how did we miss "House of Payne" from the 404 and Sparty!
Vets John Salmons and Elton Brand also will provide much-needed leadership for the young guys and that goes unnoticed but is monumental for the development for young players and team building!
