The 16-game trek in the "Shield" is heading to week 8 and the "Monsters inside the Pocket" are starting to separate themselves from the average Joe's! Having said that it's didn't take long for Colt's QB Andrew Luck from the "Farm" in Palo Alto, California to put himself right in the thick of NFL M.V.P. talk for 2014. He is "next in line" and the Colts his a "Big Fly" with that pick...

"MONSTERS Inside the POCKET"
NFL QB Leaders in Yards along with QB Rating through Week 7

Note: QB Rating in parenthesis

1. Andrew Luck #BlueSwagger 2,331 yds (100.5)

2. Matty Ice #RiseUpFalcons 2,078 ( 91.7)

3. Phillip Rivers #BoltsInPowderBlue 1,961 (113.0)

4. Drew Brees #GeauxSaints 1,916 (91.7)

5. Matthew Stafford #RestoreTheRoar 1,891 (87.9)

6. Jay Cutler #BelieveInMonsters 1,866 (94.4)

7. Big Ben #HereWeGoSteelers 1,858 (96)

8. Ordinary Joe #PurpleBrowns 1,854 (97.2)

9. Manning Mile High #UnitedInOrange 1,848 (118.2)

10. Tony Romo #CowboysNation 1,789 (104.7)

360 Degrees...

Luck is dominating and after losing to the Broncos and #FlyEaglesFly they have reeled off five wins in a row. Blue Swagger is #1 in passing yards, total yards, and #2 in ppg 30.2...M.V.P.

Ryan's team is 2-5 but both Roddy and Julio of the "Peach Drop 3" of Rise Up is getting their numbers. The Falcons just have too many holes on the O-Line and the "D" is not playing up to snuff and where is a Bryan Cox sound bite to fire ATL Football up?

Rivers was on a roll until he hit the Chiefs "D" under that Royal spell. He arguably is having his best season and  now he gets Manning Mile High on NFL week 8 Thursday Night Football...lookout!

Brees and the Saints are 2-4 and is still in the hunt for the NFC south. He can still chuck it with the best of them as it has been the Saints "D" led by Rob Ryan that has let the Saints down in 2014. Colston and Stills have been doing work for the most part as Graham has been injured.

"Staff" has found a dependable #2 in Golden Tate and where would the Lions be without Tate with MEGAtron nursing that high-ankle sprain?

"Cut" is like the weather you never know even if the forecast is good or bad right in front of you. I still think if they pulled the Cowboys recipe for success using RB Matt Forte even more it would aid Cutler and his weapons even more. Bears playing Candy land not Monopoly!

Big Ben's numbers are heightened because of #1 WR Antonio Brown (#1 in Monsters on the Outside leading in Yards receiving) and the emergence of 2nd year RB Le'veon Bell. If they can get that "D" on track the Steelers will head north and maybe capture the AFC north. Steelers have stock market-like woes...

Joe Flacco is in a groove heavily aided by Angry Bird #89 Steve Smith Sr. Where would that Ravens WR corps be without Smith as he has lit a fire in the Charm City.

Manning passes Favre in career TD passes as he is not throwing for astronomical numbers in 2014 but Peyton still is Peyton and now he has former Steelers WR Go Go Sanders in that mix...

Romo in the top 10 and he has gave way to the game plan and not the old Romo trying to win the game all by his lonesome. It's a beautiful thing to watch the transformation of Romo in the Pocket as he is still Aaron Rodgers-like moving the pocket with that patented 360 clockwise turn and weeeeeeeeee there goes that Wilson pigskin on a dime!
