I know it's early but the Calgary Flames (3-2-0 w/6 pts) through five games grabs two more points as they put the game-winner past Blackhawks net minder Corey Crawford in extras for a 2-1 "W"! The Indian Head suffers their first mark in the wrong column as they came in 2-0-0.
The scoring started in the 2nd frame as the 1st frame was zeroes when the Flames Dennis Wideman hits a slapper past Crawford making it 1-0 Flames. That score held up after two as it was 1-0 Flames going into frame three.
Then with just over 5 minutes remaining on a Hawks power play it was Andrew Shaw on a tip-in off the stick of Patrick Sharp tying the score at 1-1. Both net minders were solid as former Anaheim Duck Jonas Hiller was busy stopping some 49 shots on 50 attempts by the Indian Head.
The Hawks "Craw-Dad" Crawford halted 16 of 18 shots but the Flames get the game-winner from Mikael Baklund with just 25 seconds remaining as the Flames pick up two points to the Hawks one winning in the extra period avoiding a shootout.
The Indian Head falls to 2-0-1 with 5 points on the season. The Hawks will entertain the "Preds" of Music City on Saturday October 18th at 830pm ET at the Madhouse.
Hawks just 1 for 7 on the power play with all those frozen ones at Hiller and they lose...c'mon Hawks!
