The Pittsburgh Pirates haven't had too much to smile about in the 2014 season as they find themselves  near the bottom of the rugged NL Central. Well after an 11-10 loss to the blazin' San Francisco Giants they right the ship just in time Tuesday Game 2-1 and they take the "Get Away Day" Game 4-3 behind 2nd year Stud RHP Garrit Cole.

Cole quieted that Giants Line Up going eight strong allowing three runs on seven hits walking one and striking out seven. Cole would have had a shutout if he could have got Giants First Baseman Brandon Belt out as that Buccos Pitching all series long and Giants Opposition has had plenty of trouble getting him out in 2014. Belt accounted or all three Giants Runs going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's and a run scored including a Solo Bomb off Cole in Inning One.

The Pirates RF Travis Snider led the Bucs Charge as he went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored with First Baseman Ike Davis going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Giants Starter Tim Lincecum who last time out beat the Chop Shop in A.T.L. only went four allowing four runs on eight hits walking two and striking out four. All the runs in this one were charged to both Starters. Mark Melancon gets the Save for the Bucs as Pirates 5-STar Captain Save-A-Game Jason Grilli is on the 15-day DL.

The Giants leave PNC still leading the NL West at 21-13 with the Buccos 7.5 games out in the NL Central at 14-20 as the goal is to get to that vaunted .500 mark this early in the season.
