Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge needs to forget about this one as fast as I am writing this post. The New York Rangers were traveling with "Godzilla" take it right to the Montreal Canadiens by the score of 7-2. The Blue Shirts out shot the Habs 28-22 but simply outplayed them in every aspect.

The Rangers got on the board twice in the first period Martin St. Louis and Mats Zuccarelo scored before the midway point to make it 2-0. In the 2nd when it looked like maybe the Habs might get back in it Rene Bourque made it 2-1 Rangers as he scored a little over the midway points in period two. Both Chris Krieder and Mike Richards scored with under two minutes remaining in the 2nd to put the Habs away for good.

The Rangers adding three more goals inside the first five minutes of period three made it wash as Canadiens Net Minder Price was pulled after two periods. He stopped 16 of 20 shots as Back Up Net Minder Peter Budaj stooped 5 of 8 shot in the 3rd. Blue Shirts Net Minder and Sweden National Team Star Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 of 22 shots and was superb. Rangers scored on 3 of 7 Power Plays as the Habs had a comedy of Penalties (8) and that is way too may with Lord Stanley Watching!

Game 2 will be Monday May 19th at the Forum at 8pm ET...
