The first N0-N0 of 2K14 goes to of all people former Marlins Ace and Red Sox Chicken 7 Suds Co-Star Josh Beckett who goes into Citizens Bank Park and fights the Phightin' Phils all day long on the bump. Beckett missed his Perfect Game right of the bat walking former UCLA Bruins Star Chase Utley in the bottom of the 1st. Beckett though got plenty of Run Support as Dodgers Lead-Off Man Dee Gordon has been setting the tables nice for the Dodgers 2-4 hitters of late.
It was Gordon who led off with a Texas Leaguer (Single) to right only to get his MLB Leading 29th Theft and moving to 3rd on a Carl Crawford Fly Ball. Then with two outs Adrian Gonzalez dba "A-Gon" goes Two-Bagger scoring Gordon 1-0 Dodgers as that was all Beckett would need as the "Boys in Blue" scored five more runs including a Solo Blast by Dodger Hot Corner Justin Turner. A-Gon was 3 for 4 w/ 2 RBI, Turner 2 for 4 w/2 Runs scored, and Gordon 1 for 4 w/ 2 runs scored.
The former Kane County, Illinois Cougars (was Marlins Class-A Rookie Ball Affiliate also Miggy Cabrera was there at the ripe Age of 18 and Dontrell Willis) Farmhand's Pitching line vs Phightin' Phils:
J. Beckett vs Phillies 9 IP 0 H 0 R 3 BB 6 SO 0 HR
Beckett moves to 3-1 w/ 2.43 ERA
In the loss Phils Starter A.J. Burnett went seven allowing six run son eleven hits walking one while striking out three. He had no shot of course as Beckett went No-No!
"Boys in Blue" moves to 27-24 while the Phightin' Phils fall to 21-26...
