The Toronto Blue Jays started the week taking Fenway by storm taking all three games from the Carmines. Now they finish up a 6-0 week by running over, through, and around the AL West Leading Oakland Athletics in three straight...Wanna Get Away on Get Away Day?
Blue Birds Starter J.A. Happ followed the likes of Mark Buerhle and R.A. Dickey as he didn't want to be the odd man out not delivering during the week and messing up that 6-game 'Jays Win Streak. Happ went seven innings allowing no runs on four hits as he struck out seven giving away three free Hopper Passes for the Base Paths.
The 'Jays Offense came from First Baseman Edwin Encarnacion who took A;s Starter Drew Pomeranz Deep for a Solo Shot in the 4th. The 'Jays added one more off Pomeranz in the 5th on a "Jose Bats" Single scoring Kevin Pillar. "Jose Bats" in the 7th gets a Sac-Fly scoring Jose Reyes and that would be all the runs the 'Jays would need for a 3-1 victory. A's First Baseman Josh Donaldson took 'Jays Set-Up Man Dustin McGowan deep in the 8th for the A's only run. 'Jays Captain Save-A-Game Casey Janssen gets his 7th save.
Pomeranz took the loss as he went four inning giving up two runs on five hits as he was chased in the 5th. The 'Jays move to 29-22 starting the week at 23-22 and the A's fall to 30-20 as the Halos of Orange County California Hardball dba Team Mike Trout or Mickey Mantle 2k14 as they are just two games back.
