The Chicago Cubs of all teams on the Yankees Schedule surprise maybe even themselves as they give Japanese Sensation and Yankees Hurler Masahiro Tanaka the business at the Friendly Confines on Tuesday Night!

The Cubs methodical in their approach get to Tanaka in the 3rd, 4th, and the 6th Innings for a 6-1 victory. Cubs playing "Small Ball" gets run-scoring singles in the 3rd and 4th and two Sac-Flys in the 6th to take a 4-1 lead into the 7th. Cubs First Baseman Mike Olt had three Ribbies with Cubbies Hot Corner Luis Valbuena going 3 for 4. The Yankees lone run came on a Mark Texieria Single in the 6th inning. Tanaka's Line was six innings scoring four runs on eight hits walking one and striking out seven.

Forget Tanaka the Cubs Faithful gets one run on four hit pitching from Starter Jason Hammel as he went 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts. The North Siders then used five different Pitchers to bring Hammel home for the "W". Both Brett Gardner and Derek Jeter gets two hits for the Bombers on the night. Tanaka falls to 6-1 in 2014 ad Hammel moves to 5-2.

Yankees fall a game behind the AL Eat leading Orioles and the Cubbies riding "Dirty" in the NL Central Basement!
