Remember folks the star of stars for the 'Amazins Ace Matt Harvey is out with Timmy John so there is no better time than to get those other arms up from the Farm to see what they got! Meet and Greet Mets RHP Jacob de Grom is is a Jered Weaver of the Halos look-alike with darn there that same wiry delivery.

Well the Pittsburgh Pirates got a chance on Memorial Day to go against de Grom and that did absolutely nothing against him. de Grom went 6 2/3 innings of five-hit Hardball allowing not a run to cross the dish. He also walked five but struck out four. The Buccos were glad to see him exit as Mets Nation was not.

Pirates Starter Brandon Crumpton was no slouch either as he went six giving up two runs on seven hits. Both de Grom and Juan LeGares scored in the 5th inning off Crumpton as Daniel Murphy singled them home. The score was 2-0 Mets in the top of the eighth with both de Grom and Crumpton on the hooks for the "W" and "L".

The Bucs Gaby Sanchez took Mets Middle Man Scott Brook for a Solo Shot to make it 2-1 Mets. In the same inning Jose Tabata singled scoring Starling Marte tying the game up at 2-2. Sanchez then singled home both Neil Walker and "Cutch 22" in the top half of the 9th as the Buccos took the lead as those runs were charged to Jose Valverde and why is he still pitching. (Mets Staff see Motor City Tigers Valverde please!). Buccos Back Stop Russell Martin then scores Sanchez on a double for a 5-2 Bucs lead heading into the 9th.  Mets Lucas Duda goes Solo Bomb off the Buccos Mark Melancon as Melancon gets his 10th save.

The Buccos move to 23-37 as the 'Amazins fall to 22-28. Both de Grom and Crumpton get No Decisions!
