The Milwaukee Brewers are not pretenders as we head into Mid-May Hardball they are contenders. They arrived for a Three-Piece in the "Friendly Confines" tied for an MLB Best 27 W's and the #1 W-L on the Senior Circuit coming out of the Motel at 13-5. The Cubbies residing where only the Cubs reside in the NL Central Basement need to start hitting as the pitching has been above average.

Brew Crew's Starter Kyle Lohse gets enough run support as the Brewers scored crooked numbers in the 1st and 2nd inning to move up 4-0 and that would be all that Lohse would need to get his 5th victory in 2014. The Cubbies though made a run scoring two in the 3rd and one ion the 4th but that was it as Lohse went seven allowing seven hits and three runs. The Three Runs Lohse gave up were via the "Big Fly" as Junior Lake went Solo Bomb in the 3rd and Darwin Barney went Two-Run Dinger in the 2nd.

Cubs Starter Jeff Smardzija falls to 0-4 in 2014 as he went five innings giving up four runs on six hits while striking out six and walking three. Brew Crew's All-Star Shortstop Jean Segura went 3 for 5 with two ribbies and a run scored. The "Piwowarzy's Captain Save-A-Game Francisco Rodriguez dba K-Rod registers his MLB Leading 17th Save.

Brewers moves to 27-15 tied with the Gigantes for the Senior Circuit lead. The Cubbies fall to 13-27 and what's new as Theo has to be on the freakin' clock...(Cubs GM Theo Epstein)
