The Game Plan by the Montreal Canadiens was a "Perfect Storm" through two frames. Then the powerful Boston Bruins dba "Spokes" or simply the B's got it going like and in a five minute fury at the start of 3rd frame a 2-0 Canadiens lead turned into a 2-2 tie with the New Boston Garden on fire.
Bruins Net Minder Tuukka Rask (Finland National Team Goalie) and the Habs Net Minder Carey Price (Canada National Team Goalie) were on their game in spots with Price more locked in then Rask. The Spokes had 98 shot attempts and Price was good to the last stop! Price stooped 48 of 51 shots with Rask stopping 29 of 33 shots. It was the effectiveness of the Habs Power Play that beat the Spokes tonight and maybe a microcosm of what's to come.
2012-13 Norris Trophy Winner P.K. Subban scored first with a Snapper in period 1 on a Habs Power Play to make it 1-0. The Habs struck again in the 2nd Rene Bourque's Snapper to make it 2-0. The Spokes came out flying and finally lit the lamp behind a Reilly Smith "Writers early in period three to make it 2-1 Habs. The Bruins then some four minutes later gets a Slap Shot from Torey Krug to ties the score at 2-2. Francis Bouillon put the Canadiens back up 3-2 with eight minutes to go only for the Spokes to tie the game at 3-3 sending into Extras after Jhonny Boychuk scores.
Then in the 2nd OT Period just four minutes in with the Habs on another dreaded Power Play as the Spokes hit the Penalty Box on a minor Subban tees up a Slapper from the Blue Line in the center...everyone drive safe! Habs strike in Game 1 4-3...Habs 2 for 3 on the Power Play as the Spokes were 0 for 2.
