The Chicago Cubs arrive at PNC Park streaking and I mean streaking in the best way possible. "Maddon Ball" is on a five-game win streak having swept the Brew Crew in four straight at Miller Park. Now this week they get the Meat and Potatoes of the Senior Circuit with back to back series with the Pittsburgh Pirates (#2 NL Central/#1 NL Wild Card) and the San Francisco Giants (2nd NL West/Ties with Cubs NL Wild Card).
The North Siders at 57-57 trails the Buccos by just four games as Pittsburgh is 61-43. The Giants are tied with the Cubs as they Cubbies own the tie-breaker as we go to press as Fisherman's Wharf Hardball is just 2.5 games back of the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers.
