Tonight it was deGrom doing the most going seven strong shutout frames striking out ten Rox Hitters and walking four while throwing a two-hitter. The Mets Offense doesn't have to do much when the happenings on the Hill are this good as a crooked two was put up in the 4th giving the Amazins' a 2-0 lead.
That frame was highlighted by a Juan Uribe RBI double and a Michael Cuddyer RBI single. Then in the 8th for Citi Field and Mets Nation Insurance Yoenis Cespedes takes Rox reliever Chris Bergman deep for a Solo Blast for the final of 3-0 Mets.
Rox starter Jorge de la Rosa takes the "L" going six allowing just two runs on four hits. The Roz were a combined 3 for 29 at the dish with a dozen K's falling to a dismal 47-65. The Amazins' starting to get hot at the right time moves to 62-52 holding onto the NL East lead for now!
