Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks and San Francisco Giants starter Jake Peavy both get two put up on them in the 1st frame. The both settled down after that a they game went into the bottom half of the 6th still knotted up at 2-2.
Then with Hendricks still on the "Bump" for Maddon Ball the Gigantes score on a double and triple as Hendricks would leave after six charged with four runs on five hits as he walked three and struck out six. The Giants got out of two jams as it was 1st and 3rd with one out as they struck out Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant flied out ending the frame.
Then in the 7th it was 2nd and 3rd with one out and the Gigantes struck out both Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber ending that rally. Then it was up to that Gigantes dynamic two-pack of Sergio Romo and Santiago Casilla from the pen. Maddon Ball had no shot as Romo had the slide piece and Casilla (31st Save) was throwing a 2-seamer and a knuckle curve the nerve of him to throw 94 mph and drop down to 80 mph...filthy!
The Giants end their losing streak to the North Siders beating them for the 1st time in 2K15 moving to 67-59. Maddon Ball falls to 73-52 as their six-game win streak is over as they have been the hottest team since August 1st in the Show as the Blue Birds of Toronto is the 2nd hottest.
The "Rubber Game" features Dan Haren for the Cubbies versus the "Mad Bum" Giants Ace Madison Bumgarner for #OrangeAugust...game time 2:30pm CT.
