Nee York Mets starter Noah Syndergaard helped his own cause in the 2nd with an RBI single for the first score of the game as the Mets went up 1-0. Syndergaard would cruise through five before hitting some unexpected turbulence in the 6th.

The Boston Red Sox behind starter Wade Miley would get on the board in the 6th on a "Big Papi" two-run blast his 494th of his career as he needs six to get to 500 and 10 to tie the Baltimore Orioles HOF Eddie Murray. Mile could not hold that 2-1 Carmines lead in the bottom half of the 6th as Juan Uribe (two-run Double) and Anthony Recker (RBI single) would put the Mets back into the lead at 4-2 after six.

With both Miley and Syndergaard getting no-decisions it would be up to the Pens late. That was after Syndergaard would give up a ground-rule RBI double to Jackie Bradley Jr. in the 7th for a 4-3 Mets lead. Then with Mets reliever Hansel Robles on the "Bump" Carmines CF Mookie Betts would go RBI  triple tying the game up at 4-4.

In the bottom half of the 8th the Mets off of Carmines reliever Heath Henbree would get an GW RBI single from Michael Cuddyer as the Mets Pen would shut it down in the 8th and 9th for the "W"! The Amazins' move to 72-58 and that is good for a six game lead over the Nats in the NL East.

The Bo Sox falling to 60-70 almost gets the sweep as their hopes of getting into October Hardball is via the AL Wild Card. Boston is 8 games back of the #2 AL Wild Card Team the Texas Rangers as we go to press.
