The Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates were rained out last night as they resumed their three-piece tonight at PNC Park along side the Big Ketchup Bottle dba Heinz Field. The North Siders and starter Jake Arrieta wasted no time on 'Burgh Hardball as they quietly take apart the Jolly Roger and Bucs Nation!

Arrieta goes seven allowing just two hits as those three walks never came back to haunt him. He also had five strikeouts as the Cubs touched up Buccos starter J.A. Happ for four runs in just over four frames of Hardball.

A bases loaded walk got things started in the 1st to Jorge Soler making it 1-0 Cubs. In the 3rd a Starlin Castro two-bagger leading to an RBI and a RBI single by David Ross made it 3-0 North Siders. Castro then doubled home another run in the 5th for a Cubs 4-0 lead as Soler added an RBI single in the 6th. Cubbies just playing Hardball now and locked in doing so as that was some pretty fundamentally sound dealing rights there!

"Maddon Ball" moves to 58-47 with Arrieta moving to 12-6. Happ falls to 4-7 as the Buccos at 61-44 have some real company in the Cubbies if they do not get on the board tomorrow. The Cubbies play four at home facing the Gigantes awhile the Buccos have three with the visiting Dodgers as it will all play out this weekend!

Note: Cubbies All-Star 1B Anthony Rizzo goes 4 for 5 scoring two runs with Chris Denorfia going 3 for 6 with a run...
