There were plenty of fireworks at Sky Dome for the Saturday Matinee between the AL's Best the Kansas City Royals and the new-look 'Blue Birds of "North of the Border" Hardball. Both starters went bend but don't break as K.C. starter Yordano Ventura had some issues but he was an inch or two better than the 'Jays Frames-Eater Mark Buehrle.

It was newly-acquires Ben Zobrist of the Royals who took Buehrle deep in the 1st for a 1-0 Royals lead. The 'Jays then took Ventura for a ride as they hung up a crooked two in the 4th and crooked three in the 5th. The 5th frame was highlighted by a Josh Donaldson two-run HR and a Jose Bautista dba "Jose Bats" solo blast that led to 5-1 Blue Birds lead.

Buehrle though could sustain the lead as the Royals get Buehrle in the 6th with a crooked three with Eric Hosmer netting a two RBI single which made it 5-4 'Jays. That 'Jays leas stayed 5-4 until the 8th when  the Royals behind another Ben Zobrist solo HR and another Hosmer RBI single took a 7-5 lead     as Buehrle left after seven.

"Jose Bats" went deep in the 8th cutting the lead to one 7-6 but the Royals Pen holds up for a 7-6 K.C. win...and Royals Captain Save-A-Game Greg Holland grabs save #23!

K.C. moves to 62-41 while the 'Jays drop to 53-52...
