The Pittsburgh Pirates still trying to catch the NL Central leading St. Louis Cardinals finishes a four-piece split with the rival Red Stockings of Cincy Hardball. On "Get Way Day" it was Pirates starter Charlie Morton who did the honors and answering the bell scattering five hits over seven frames. He also struck out seven with no free passes.

That Buccos Offense was generated by OF Starlin Marte two-run scoring double in the 3rd and a Solo Blast from Neil Walker in the 4th. Red Stockings starter Keyvius Sampson went just five allowing those three runs on three hits as he struck out and walked three.

The Pirates move to 60-43 which is five games back of the Redbirds in the Central. Cincy at 47-55 is playing for jobs in 2016 as maybe they should have blown it up moving some Vets like @DatDudeBP and Jay Bruce.
