The Pittsburgh Pirates jumped all over Los Angeles Dodgers starters Mat Latos to the tune of six runs on seven hits through four frames. You would have thought Latos coming from the Red Stockings of Cincy Hardball before Little Havana Hardball he would have had an nice game plan having seen the Bucs more than a few times over the last couple of seasons.

The Dodgers also jumped all over Bucs starter Francisco Liriano for four runs on seven hits in the first three frames. The score after three was Pirates leading 6-4. I was thinking at that point a Fast Pitch Softball game was going to breakout as both Pens went 24-7-365 lock down the rest of the way.

The Dodgers rallied in the 9th on a Scott Van Slyke double scoring Howie Kendrick. Bucs Captain Save-A-Game Mark Melancon stopped all of that noise grabbing his 35th save and 'Burgh Hardball is back and doing big things. Steelers who...there will be October Hardball near the Three Rivers no matter how you slice it!

Back in the 2nd Liriano helped his own cause with a three-run blast off Latos as the Bucs railed 2-1 after a frame and a half. Both Van Slyke and Kendricks led the Dodgers attack with two hits apiece with Van Slyke adding two RBI.

Pirates move to 64-44 while the Dodgers fall to 62-48. Look Bucs Nation there is an assortment of things going on as Zoltan strikes and they "Raise the Jolly Roger"...
