Some were saying if the Chicago Cubs head into August playing meaningful hardball in a Pennant Race will the young talent fold like Addison Russell and Kris Bryant? Well we are a week into August and the North Siders are playing their best hardball of the season.

Fast Forward to Jon Lester having no struggles since we hit July as he goes seven allowing two runs on six hits. That 7th inning jam he got out of with ducks on the pond and getting a pop-up to first by Giants Ehire Adrianza was huge as "Les" moves to 7-8 in 2K15.

With the game tied in the bottom of the 5th at 1-1 and Gigantes starter Ryan Vogelsong getting it done matching Lester the wheels came off. After a lead-off single by Addison Russell and a Dexter Fowler two-bagger putting runners at 2nd and 3rd the Cubs Offense went to work.

Jeremy Affedlt replaced Vogelsong and the next hitter Kyle Schwarber who else goes two RBI single making it 3-1 Cubbies. Then with Schwarber and Kris Bryant on the base path and San Fran going to middle man Yusmeiro Petit Cubbies RF Jorge Soler doubles both of them in making it 5-1 Chicago. David Ross would knock in Soler making 6-1 Cubbies as they would go onto win 7-3.

Chicago moves to 60-48 as Hector Rondon grabs save #18 and the Gigantes fall again as they are 59-50. Vogelsong takes the loss falling to 7-8.
