In a wild one in Tampa as the Miami Marlins are all business and there are doing it without Ace Jose Fernandez who underwent season-ending Tommy-John Surgery a few weeks ago. Both Starter got lit up in this one and after all the smoke cleared it is the Miami Marlins headed to Wrigley 100 Years for a Three-Piece that is tied for 1st in the NL East.
Jacob Turner for the Fish and Jake Ordorizzi for the Rays both were gone by the 6th. As the Rays truck first on a James Loney Sac-Fly in Inning One to make it 1-0 Rays. The Marlins though went 305 Fast Pitch Softball Mode after that scoring a crooked three in the 5th highlighted by two singles to make it 3-1 Fish. Then in the bottom half of the 5th both Rays Ben Zorbist and Kevin Kiermaier went Solo Blasts to make it 3-3 at the end of five. The Fish from Innings six through nine outscored the Rays 8-3 and all that was highlighted by a Two-Run HR by Giancarlo Stanton in the 7th and a Marcell Ozuna Two-Run HR in the 9th. The Fish went onto win the game 11-6.
The Fish now roll into Wrigley Field on Friday (yes the Bluedude with my Three Sons and "Ball and Chain" will be in attendance) as they are now tied for 1st in the NL East at 32-28 with Braves Country. The Rays fall to 23-38 and they are officially swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.
