The Seattle Mariners Rookie Roenis Elias went seven innings of three hist hardball allowing a run on a Solo Blast by the Friars Rene Rivera. That was Elias' only boo boo on the day as the Mariners (37-34 in NL West and in 3rd place) are playing with some get up and moxy.

With the Friars up 1-0 moving into the bottom half of the 2nd the M's get a Two-Run Blast from First Baseman Jesus Montero as he takes Friars Starter Eric Stults for a ride! Then Robbie Cano takes Stults for a Two-Run Blast in the 5th Inning putting the M's up 4-1 as they coast to a 6-1 "W". With Montero and Cano with Two Ribbies they also get two Ribbies from Hot Corner Kyle Seager who gets a two-run scoring single off the Friars Tim Stauffer.

The Mariners have been quiet except in the standings to date. They are right in the middle of the AL West trailing the Halos and Athletics. A difficult week continues for the Friars as they lose "Mr. Padre" Tony Gwynn at the young age of 54...R.I.P. Tony Gwynn 1960-2014...
