White Sox Starter Carlos Quintana needed to be good and the Sox needed to be better than the Home Team the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday Night. Both came to fruition as the Sox Starter Quintana goes seven strong giving up one run on six hits as he struck out eight and walked three. The O's hit Quintana but could not deliver a big enough blow to beat him.
The South Siders scored in the 1st Inning on a Gordon Beckham Solo HR and a De Aza Single in the 2nd inning. Sox Back Stop Tyler Flowers singles home Viciedo in the 4th inning giving Quintana a 3-0 lead he would not surrender. The O's got on the board on a Steve Pearce Solo HR in the 6th off Quintana the only run he gave up. O's Starter Miguel Gonzalez takes the loss allowing three runs on nine hits as he walked three and struck out three.
The Sox move to 36-42 still the 5th place team in the AL Central. The O's drop to 40-36 just 2.5 games back of the AL East leading Blue Birds...
