Yes the Swiss had no shot in this one as the game started out slowly then the Sky started falling on the Swiss. The Forecast wasn't "Cloudy with a Chance of Swiss Chocolate" but quickly turned into "Cloudy with a Chance of the French Soccer Balls" as the French made quick work of the Swiss  moving on to the field of 16.

It all started in the 17th minute as France Striker by way of Arsenal (EPL) Olivier Giroud heads one in  to make it 1-0 and not even sixty some odd seconds later Blase Matuidi strike sin the 18th minute to make it 2-0 on a left footer that eased its way past Swiss Goalkeeper Diego Benaglio who had a horrible time of it today in the box. Benaglio when the French Smoke finally cleared faced 19 shots in which 13 were on net and he stopped eight of them. It was the French dominating in the Midfield as Mathieu Valbuena (40'), Karim Benzema (67'), and Moussa Sisokko (73') all followed suit to make it 5-0 France.

The Swiss finally got on the board in the 81st minute behind Blerim Dzemaili and in the 87th minute a goal by Granit Xhaka to make it 5-2 the final score. The French now await their next opponent in the Round of 16 with both England and Spain out of the Cup!
