The Kansas City Royals have put everyone on high-alert from the AL Central to the whole Junior Circuit of late. They were trying to get their 11th win in a row and leave Detroit up 2.5 games but that didn't happen.

The Motor City Kitties reached back and grabbed their "Valentine" (Heart) and avoided getting swept as the Royals did hammer both Justin Verlander and "Mad Max" Scherzer on the Four-Piece Motel Swing in the "D"! It was Tigers Starter Anibal Sanchez who held that Royals Offense to one run on five hits through seven to get his 4th win of 2014. Only Billy Butler and Nori Aoki had multi-hits for the Royals who will leave the "D" just 1/2 game up on the Tigers.

The Tigers get a Run-Scoring Double from Miggy Cabrera and J.D. Martinez Solo Bomb in the 4th as the deciding factor as they were down 1-0 until then as the Royals scored in the top of the 1st inning. Martinez was the backbone of the Tigers Offense all week long as he delivered time after time when no other Tiger would. Danny Duffy takes the loss going seven giving up just two runs on three hits as he was coming off of a dominant performance beating the Pale Hose on the South Side of Chi-City this past weekend in a Royals three-game sweep of the White Sox.

Royals leave town at 39-33 as the tigers move to 37-32 just a 1/2 game back of K.C. in the all of a sudden Top-Heavy AL Central...
