Remember them days no not then Dave Stewart, Jack Morris, Paul Molitor, Roberto Alomar, Cito Gaston led Back to Back Champions Bluer Jays. How about those 80s 'Jays with an Outfield of (L to R) George Bell, Lloyd Moseby, and Jesse Barfield with Dave Steib on the Bump leading the charge.
Now enter the Miami Marlins "North of the Border" well kinda sorta as the Blue Jays with all, those 2013 expectations are back and leading the somewhat average at best AL East thus far. The 'Jays go into Comerica Park on Thursday Afternoon on "Get Away Day" and beat the Tigers 7-3 and Ace Justin Verlander (6-5 in 2014).
The Blue Birds did it with the "Big Fly" in Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie going Solo Bombs with Juan Francisco going Two-Run Bomb. It wasn't all at the dish as 'Jays Starter J.A. Happ handled his business going 6 1/3 innings allowing three runs on seven hits as the Blue Birds Starting Staff (led by Mark Buerhle's 10-1 start) has been dominating the last month or so. Ian Kinsler (2 for 4 w/ 2 RBIs) and Nick Castellenos (3 for 4 w/R) led the Motor City Kitties Offense.
The 'Jays lead the AL East at 37-24 and that is good for 5.5 games over the Charm City O's. The Detroit Tigers all of a sudden have company in the LA Central from the Pale Hose (2.5 gms back) and the Tribe (3 gms back).
