The Milwaukee Brewers came into their Rubber Game Match Up five games ahead of the Redbirds of Baseball Town USA for first place in the NL Central. The Buccos came in seven games back and something had to give in the Rubber Match.

Behind seven innings of four-hit and eight strikeout hardball from Brew Crew Ace Yovani Gallardo the Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0. The lone run in the ball game came on a Aramis Ramirez Fielder's Choice in the seventh inning giving the Brewers the lead at 1-0. Jonathan Lucroy led the Brewers going 3 for 4 scoring the only run in the game. Bucs Starter Jeff Locke was on his game as well giving up a run and three hits in seven innings of work.

The Bucs Offense was null and void as CF Andrew McCutchen was 2 for 4 on the day. Brew Crew's Captain Save-A-Game Francisco Rodriguez dba K-Rod notched his 19th save of 2014. The Brewers move to 38-26 while the Bucs fall to 29-33.
