The only thing missing on this night was a little help from the North Siders of Chicago Senior Circuit Hardball as the Cubbies blew a lead in the 8th in St. Louis and missed a three-game sweep of the Redbirds.

Meanwhile it was Buccos Business regardless of what transpired at New Busch near the "Muddy" Mississippi as they take the "Rubber Game" winning 5-4 over the Red Stockings!  #BUCN starter J.A. Happ wasn't J.A. on this night no pun intended as he goes six solid frames allowing two runs on three hits and strikes out ten.

Happ took the "Hill" in the bottom half of the 6th after the Pirates broke a 1-1 tie in their half of the 6th. It was Jung Ho Kang with "Sacks"Packed taking Red Stockings starter Keyvius Sampson deep for a Granny and that was your ball game. Sampson would take the "L" falling to 2-4.

The Red Stockings did score three in the 7th and 8th combined but "Raise the Jolly Roger" Captain Save-A-Game Mark Melancon gets save #44 and he is nearly impossible to hit. The Buccos stay 4.5 games back of the Redbirds in the NL Central with the Cubbies 7.5 games out... Raise it #BUCN!
