The Pittsburgh Pirates took the field today and they knew the St. Louis Cardinals had lost the suspended game from last night and Saturdays Matinee with the Red Stockings. All the Buccos had to do today was win and they would be just 2.5 games out of first place in the NL Central.

After Pittsburgh starter Jeff Locke went six frames and some change allowing one run the Pirates Offense exploded for a crooked ten. That as all highlighted by Josh Harrison's 4 for 4 day, A-Ram's 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run, and a Michael Morse "Granny" and the Buccos ran the "Piwowarzy" right out of PNC Park 10-2.

Locke moves 8-10 but more importantly the Pirates at 85-56 moves steps closer to the St. Louis Cardinals who as we go to press losers of 8 of the last ten games. "Brew Crew" Starter Zach Davies lasted just 3 2./3 frames allowing six runs all earned runs.

Now we have a whole new race in the Central as the Chicago Cubs would have been under five games but lose to Philly 7-5...
