Chicago Cubs starter Jason Hammel didn't bring his "Stuff" to Game 1 of the Twin Bill at PNC but the North Siders bailed him out. Pittsburgh Pirates Ace Gerrit Cole was cruising until "Maddon Ball" hit him and the Bucs Pen (Joakim Soria) with a crooked three in the 7th tying the game up at 4-4.

It was a Starlin Marte sac-fly in the bottom half of the 8th that put the Buccos in the winner's circle. They "Raise the Jolly Roger" on "Maddon Ball" in game 1 of two as Buccos Captain Save-A-Game Mark Melancon goes save #46 and that is mowing them down late!

Cubs back stop Miguel Montero was the only Cubs Players that had multi-hits as Starlin Castro was 1 for 4 with a run. The Buccos were led by the top of that line up of Neil Walker, Gregory Polanco, and "Cutch 22" Andrew McCutchen as they combined to go 3 for 10 with three runs runs and two RBI.

Cubs fall to 82-61 and the Buccos move to 87-56...leading the Cubbies by 5 full games!

Game #2 tonight at 7:05pm ET...
