The New York Mets after putting away the rival Washington Nationals in three straight at Nats Park went into Braves Country with the same mojo! It was Mets starter Bartolo Colon who set the "Pace" Thursday Night in Atlanta as the Amazins' were looking to move to 79-61...

With a scoreless game heading into the 4th it was a Kevin Plawecki two-run double that opened up the scoring making it 2-0 Mets. Braves starter Shelby Miller who has went south since the All-Star Break also let Colon help his own cause with an RBI Single in the 4th making it 3-0.

That score remained the same until the 7th when a Juan Uribe RBI single made it 4-0. Colon who would give up his only two runs on the night in the bottom half of the 7th would go 6 2/3 frames allowing seven hits and striking out two. Atlanta scored in the 7th on a Jace Peterson RBI triple and an Adrelton Simmons RBI single.

The Amazins' would add one in the 8th and one in the 9th as Colon would move to 14-11. Better yet the Amazins' move to 79-61 in the standings and as we go to press that would be 7.5 games ahead of the Nats. Braves Country at 56-85 has been done for quite sometime...
