Chicago Cubs Ace RHP Jake Arrieta was suppose to get the start yesterday in Citizens Bank Ballpark vs the Philadelphia Phillies but that was rained out. The Cubbies had an extra day to soak in that terrible loss in St. Louis but also get an extra days rest for the Men on the "Bump"!

In game #1 of a Twilight Doubleheader the Phils came out flying with a 2nd frame solo blast off the bat  Aaron Altherr that gave Philly a 1-0 lead. That lead lasted two frames after that until the Cubbies got a hold of Phils starter Adam Morgan in the 5th on an Austin Jackson RBI double tying the game at 1-1. Then Kris Bryant doubles A-Jack home for a 2-1 Cubbies lead. That RBI from K.B. sets a Cubbies Rookie record of 87 RBI in a season.

In the top half of the 6th with Morgan long gone and Phils reliever Hector Neris on the "Bump" Addison Russell doubles home two more making it 4-1 North Siders. A Starlin Castro solo Bomb in the 7th capped the scoring as the Cubbies win 5-1 as Arrieta moves to 19-6 as he went eight giving up a run on six hits.

Chicago more importantly stays in the hunt for the NL Central as the Redbirds continue to struggle. The North Siders at 81-58 is 3rd in the NL Central but 2nd in the NL Wild Card. Philly falls to depths unknown in the Show at 54-87...
