The AL East will go al the way into late September and the last week of the season at the beginning of October. The Rays and Red Sox are getting what most are trading for at the Trade Deadline....Starting Pitching.

Speaking of 60 feet 6 inches from the bump Rays RHP Roberto Hernandez goes complete job to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2. Hernandez allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six as D-Backs DH Eric Chavez knocked in the two D-Backs runs off Hernandez.

The D-Backs RHP Ian Kennedy went five innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out seven as Rays SS Yuniel Escobar took Kennedy for a two out Solo Shot in the 4th. The Rays second baseman Ben Zorbrist went 3 for 4 with two ribbies. The Rays still lead the Carmines by a 1/2 game in the AL East. The D-Backs are three games back of the Dodgers and hope to get some help from the Yankees.

Speaking of the Carmines they rolled over the M's at Fenway 8-2 as Red Sox RHP Brandon Workman goes six strong striking out nine and allowing one run. The Bo Sox jumped all over M's Starter Joe Saunders as they put a crooked two and three on Saunders in the first two frames. Sox OF Shane Victorino went 3 for 4 scoring three runs and Ellsbury went Solo Job and Pedroia goes two-run blast. Carmines are also reportedly closing in on Pale Hose RHP Jake Peavy and they need an arm as Clay Buchholz looks to be 50/50 as we head into August Hardball.
