The Tampa Bay Rays had to elated when the took over first place in the AL East and now they started really putting the pressure on the Red Sox and O's.

In a pitchers duel between the Rays RHP Chris Archer and Yankees Ivan Nova the Bronx Faithful saw a gem by both. The Rays edge the Yanks 1-0 but not before Archer went 9 allowing just two hits and striking out six Bombers. Nova  was equally as impressive going seven innings allowing six hits and one run as Nova issued three free passes and he struck out eight.

The Rays lone run came on a two-out single by Kelley Johnson in the top half of the sixth frame. The only multi-hit game came from Rays red-hot first baseman James Loney who was 2 for 3. The Yankees only two hits came from CF Brett Gardner and 1B Lyle Overbay. The Rays lead the AL East now by one full games as the O's and Carmines have yet to tangle. The Yanks are now eight back of the Rays and it's all that Grade-A Rays Pitching that is getting it done and they might run the table from here on.

Another Complete Job by a Rays Pitcher as Rays Skip Maddon has a plethora of riches in that Rotation!
