The New York Yankees came in today's game eight back of the Rays and they had to show themselves and the Rays that they can beat them before they leave town. Well nine innings later after the Captain Jeter went deep in his first A.B. of the game and Newly acquired Alfonso Soriano goes two-run blast the Yanks get themselves a much-needed "W" 6-5.

What was even more impressive the Bombers beat 14 game-winner Matt Moore and chased him after five innings as he gave up five runs on eight hits walking three and only striking out two. The Captain #2 was 2 for 4 with a Solo Blasts he also scored two runs and all of that goes down for Yankees Faithful as "Jeter being Jeter. Alfonso Soriano in just his 3rd game back in Pinstripes got inn on the act with a two-run blast in the 3rd off Moore and take that Brain Cashman who reportedly didn't want to give up one of the Yanks Top Pitching Prospects Corey Black to the Cubs to get Soriano but was waved off big big cheese upstairs. That big cheese Hal Steinbrenner. Hal better be right because with just acquiring Soriano I don't see the Yanks catching the Rays or Carmines. I also give credit to the Bombers as they are not thinking about 2014 as 2013 is yet to be over and that's how they do it in the Bronx hence 27 Chips.

The Rays nearly pulled it off as Rookie Prospect Will Myers nearly beat the Yanks by his lonesome. Myers took Hughes Yard twice with a three-run bomb and a solo blast. Myers was 2 for 4 with four ribbies and three runs scored. Longoria, Loney, and Johnson also had a multi-hit game.

The Yankees are 7 1/2 back of the Carmines who take over 1st place as Rays lose. Bombers have plenty of work to do and August Hardball starts Thursday.
