Red Sox Starter John Lackey got hit early and often as the Orioles jumped all over the Bo Sox in game one of a three game set. O's Center Fielder Adam Jones got everything started in Inning 1 with a two-out 2-run blast and the O's were off and running there. Jones then connected again in the bottom half of the 5th frame with a Solo Job off Lackey to make it 4-0 as All-Stars Hardy and Machado also went Solo Jobs to finish out the O's scoring.

O's RHP Chris Tillman was dealing as he went seven strong allowing two hits striking out eight and issuing three free passes but he didn't allow the Sox to score. Lackeys on the other hand was on the hook for the loss in 6 1/3 innings as he gave up five runs on nine hits and allowed the "Stitched One" to be a souvenir three times. Now the Bo Sox look like they will fall out of first as the Rays are hammering the Yanks as we go to press. The O's will move three behind the Carmines with the win.
