A top three in the NL Cy Young Balloting in 2012 Nats LHP Gio "G2" Gonzalez needs to forget 2013 and the problem is he has about 8-10 more starts in 2013. On a day where Tigers Ace Justin Verlander goes "Vintage "Justin of Comerica" the Nats Gonzalez could do nothing right getting rocked.

The Tigers put a crooked five up in innings two and four and go onto beat he Nats 11-1 as Verlander picks up win #11 against eight defeats. Gio's line was 3 1/3 innings pitched and he allowed ten runs on eleven hits ten runs and gave up two big flies to Tigers back stop Alex Avila (2-run shot) and Torii Hunter (solo HR). That had to be Gio's worst outing ever in the show.

Verlander went six strong allowing one run on four hits striking out six but uncharacteristically walking five Nats Hitters. The Tigers needed to see the Nats as the Tribe is right behind the Tigers having won six in a row as the Tigers have won five in a row.

Torii Hunter had a huge day for the Tigers as he went 4 for 5 knocking in three runs and scoring two runs. Tiger DH Victor Martinez also went 3 for 5 with a ribbie and a run scored.

Reports are Tigers 2013 SS Jhonny Peralta looks to be on the list for PED Suspensions and the Tigers get SS Jose Iglesias as protection if Peralta is indeed on that list and getting suspended.
