The Yankees have won eight of their last eleven in Fenway but who counting the W's behind them when they need to start stacking them now. Behind RHP Hiroki Kuroda's seven innings of five hit hardball and allowing just two runs the Yanks get a much-needed victory 5-2. The Yanks three-run seventh decided the outcome in this one. Carmines RHP John Lackey was cruising as he allowed just one run in the 5ht until his horrendous 7th frame. Gardner, Overbay, and Nunez had three hits apiece for the Yanks as the series sets itself up for the Sunday Night Baseball Rubber Match featuring Sabathia vs Letser.

The Cincinnati Reds are making their move right after All-Star Break and the Pirates didn't need a second team chasing the Redbirds. Behind Red Legs RHP Mat Latos' five innings of three runs on four hits and excellent Bull Pen work the Reds beat the Pirates 5-4 as they go for the Sweep on Sunday. Buccos RHP AJ Burnett went 5 2/3 innings but it was his first flaws that put the Buccos four runs behind after one that did him in. Pirates First Baseman Garret Jones and CF Drew McCucthen both took Latos deep for Solo Jobs but it wasn't enough. Now the Red Legs find themselves just two back of the Pirates for 2nd in the NL Central.

The Tamp Bay Rays continue to put pressure on the AL East leading Red Sox as they beat the Blue Birds behind the calm and cool hitting of "Hot off the Farm" Wil Myers. Myers was 2 for 4 as he knocked in two of the four runs to help beat the Jays 4-3. 'Jays All-Star Joey Bats hit his 22nd bomb but it was with No Ducks on the pond. Hellickson for the Rays gets the win moving to 9-3 and 'Jays LHP Buehrle falls to 5-7 as he gets saddled with the loss.
