I have been saying this for more than a few years as Coach K of Duke Longtime Assistant Johnny Dawkins left for Stanford that there will be more soon. Well current Duke Lead Assistant Chris Collins and Steve Wojciechowski are in the Fold to be next Head Coaches somewhere soon as they have been under the watchful eye of many Division 1 Universities for the past few years after their Duke playing Days were over.

Fast Forward to March 27, 2013 and the Northwestern Wildcats have named Chris Collins (pictured left...Former Illinois HS Star at Glenbrook South HS and Big Mac and former Bulls and now current Sixers Lead Man Doug Collins Son ) to be the next Lead Man of the Northwestern Wildcats. The 'Cats had to be looking to make a Splash and they needed a big name with Ties not only heavy in Illinois and the Chicago Area but Nationally as Northwestern is a Top 10 Academic Institution.

Collins will bring his Resume from Duke as an impressive one as he help land some of the T
op School Boy Hooper at Duke in the last 10 years. Also having worked with Coach K for the Men's US National Team is a huge plus as well. The one question remains as can he get that Top 50 kid nationally to wear Purple and Black? I remember twenty some odd years ago they had one Hoosier All-American Alan Henderson almost signed and that was the closest they have had to my knowledge of a big time Recruit. That is neither here nor there as there are plenty of Kids to look at in the Chicago Area but will the Northwestern Academic Standards get in the way as well? The 'Cats are Hidden Gem in Division 1 Athletics ask the Women's LaCrosse Team.

Good Luck Coach Collins as that is a tall order and a nice Science Project.
