The game played out like most thought it would a nail biter and who ever made the mistake at the key juncture of the game was going to go home a loser. Well both net minders in the Pittsburgh Penguins Marc-Andre Fleury and the Chicago Blackhawks Corey Crawford had other ideas as they put cement around the blue paint for a "Fight for Lord Stanley" type Sunday Afternoon.

It was a Hawks seemingly in control for most of the afternoon especially after five-star defenseman from Sweden Niklas Hjalmarsson scored the only goal of the 1st two periods early behind assists from Brandon Saad and Captain Serious #19 to make it 1-0 Indian Head.

Through those first two frames Hawks net minder Corey Crawford stopped all 25 SOG from Team Happy Feet as it was also the stellar defense played in front of him by notably defensive lines of Duncan Keith/Brent Seabrook and Hjalmarsson/Johnny Oduya.

The Pens kept plugging then create a chance for Nick Spaling who didn't disappoint tying the game at 1-1 early in the 3rd. Pens net minder Marc-Andre Fleury was on his A-Game stopping all but one of 29 SOG.

The Game then went into a shootout with Star Power everywhere as the Blackhawks Stars > the Pens Stars in this one. It was both David Perron and Jonathan Toews scoring in round 1 making it 1-1. In round 2 it was "Sid the Kid" Crosby hitting the shoulder of Hawks goalie "Craw-Dad" and the Frozen One still found the net as he scores as did Hawks "Bison City Mullet" #88 tying it up at 2-2.

With both net minders forgetting hot stop the Frozen One it was "Craw-Dad" stopping the Pens Kris LeTang and "Sharpie" #10 Patrick Sharp of the Hawks sending Hawks Nation home with a Shootout "W" and more importantly two points chasing down the Opryland Preds the Central leader with 82 points.

The Indian Head picks up two more points moving to 74 points as they inch closer to 2nd place St. Louis with 78 points. The Pens fall to 32-15-9 with 73 points good enough for 2nd place in  the Metro Division just two points behind John Tavares and the Isles of Long Island NY Hockey.

Hawks get their rivals the Red Wings of Hockey Town USA on "Hump Day" this week February 18, 2015 at 8pm ET in the Madhouse.

Note: Marian Hossa goal streak and points streak stops at 4 games as he had "Lit the Lamp" some seven times the last four Hawks outings...
