The Wisconsin Badgers at one point in the 2013-14 season was in the top 5 nationally an rolling behind Center and former Benet Academy (Lisle, Illinois) Star Frank Kaminski and Sophomore Star Sam Dekker. Since they have succumbed to the pressure of Big Ten Conference Play and they had to rise up to beat the #1 Team in the Big 10 the Michigan State Spartans or the loss would have put NCAA Tourney Hopes in jeopardy.
Behind a game-winning "J" from Junior PG Treavon Jackson as the Spartans tied it with a Money Ball from Senior Big Adreian Payne with just under 11 seconds the Badgers jump right back into the Big Race just three off the lead pace set by both the Spartans and Wolverines. U-Dub Madison was bailed out by the play of SF and Bench Player Nigel Hayes' 14 points with the aforementioned Kaminsky (10 pts 6 rebs), Dekker (11 pts 5 rebs), and Guard Josh Gasser's eleven points. Both Gasser an Dekker combined to shoot 6 for 11 from the Arc and that was the difference in the game.
Spartan All-American Candidate Gary Harris missed all seven of his Money Ball Attempts and shot a woeful 3 for 20. Senior Center Adreian Payne came off of his Foot Injury that kept him sidelined for a little over a month to get a game-high 24 points as he stays on the NBA late 1st Round Radar. Green Guard Travis Trice added 13 points as the only other Spartan in double figures.
The Badgers with the win stay tied for 3rd with the Buckeyes at 6-5 in Conference Play. State drops back to tied for 1st with rival Michigan for the Big 10 Lead at 9-2.
Note: Spartans missed PG and four-year Starter Keith Appling...
