The Michigan State Spartans didn't waste anytime wit the Purdue Boilermakers as Matt Painter's 2013-14 Squad has struggled. Sparty has moves to a three-guard set and for the Opposition it has posed major problems and tonight wasn't any different.

Behind 25 points (6/9 3pt FG) from All-American Candidate Gary Harris, 16 points an five boards from Valentine, and 14 points and six helpers from Travis Trice Sparty rolls to a 94--79 "W". Senior PG Keith Appling played 25 minutes but is now in a back up role as the guards in front of him have played better. Senior PF Adreian Payne added 23 points for "Izzone" as they shot 54% from the Field 57% from the Arc, and above 75% from the Stripe. Purdue at this stage doesn't have enough Firepower to stay with the Spartans.

The Boilermakers get 19 points from Class of 2013 Top 50 Nationally SG Kendall Stephens from St. Charles, Illinois East High School. Sophomore Ronnie Johnson was the only starter in double figures with 17 points. Purdue was just 24 of 40 from the Free Throw Line and that put them in Loss Column combined with not stopping the Guards from State.

Sparty moves to 22-5 overall and 11-3 in the Big 10 a 1/2 game ahead of rival Michigan. Purdue falls to 15-11 and 5-8 in the Big 10 as Painter's Squad is in rebuild mode.
