The Wichita State Shockers had little trouble beating the home team the Evansville Purple Aces 84-68 in a balanced attack. Four of the five Shocker Starters were in double figures as State shot nearly 50% from the field and 95% from the Stripe.

The Shockers coming in at 26-0 and 13-0 in the MVC turned a 38-32 nip and tuck ball game into a 84-68 route as they just wore down the Purple Aces. The Shockers Rod Baker had a game-high 26 points with the most underrated PG in the Nation Fred Van Fleet (Rockford IL Auburn HS) adding 18 points, dishing out eight assists, and had five thefts. Former JUCO National Player of the Year Cleanthony Early went 13 and 7 as the Shockers look to be on pace for that #1 seed and be the "Hunted" not the "Hunter".

The Aces get 19 points apiece from G D.J. Balentine and Center Egidijus Mockevicius. The Aces shot the Orange well 51% from the field and 46% from the Arc as well as 94% from the Stripe as they just ran out of gas. It was the Shockers experience that overwhelmed the Aces late and when filling out your Brackets in March Madness the Wheat Shockers are for real.

State moves to 27-0 and 14-o in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Aces fall to 11-16 and 4-10 in the MVC.
