The Spartans had everything in front of them as they knew the Michigan Wolverines had lost to Wisconsin earlier in the day 75-62 dropping the Wolverines to 10-3 in the Big 10. All the Spartans had to do was beat Nebraska and they move to 11-2 in Big 10 play and a lead...and that didn't happen!

Behind some suffocating "D" and controlling the all important "Pace" Big Red Lincoln goes into "IZZONE" and hands the Spartans an "L" as the Huskers move to 6-6 in Big 10 play and 14-10 overall. Nebraska held a 32-25 lead at the break and then just cruised to a 60-51 win as the Spartans were just stunned. Big Red Lincoln was led by Guard Terran Petteway's game-high 23 points and Forward Walter Pitchford's 18 points as they both combined to shoot 8 for 19 from the Arc. Sparty shot 5 of 24 from the Arc and their Starters were 2 for 16 from the Arc.

The Spartans gets 18 points from All-American Shooting Guard Gary Harris and 11 points and nine boards from Adreian Payne. PG Keith Appling played just 19 minutes coming off the bench scoring just two points and 1 of 2 shooting. That stellar Back Court of Harris and Appling has to get back on track in order for Green to make their customary run in March. Green shoots 34% from the field and 20% from the Arc and playing behind "IZZONE" that is far from getting it done.

With the loss the Spartans fall back into a tie with Michigan at 10-3 in the big 10 and 21-5 overall. The Huskers move to 6-6 and 14-10 overall with an outside shot at March Madness.
