The Fins used a discipline approach on both ends of the ice and Boston Bruins Net Minder Tuukka Rask was on his A-Game in Net as the Fins send the Russians out of metal contention. The Fins put 22 shots on net as the Russians went with Seymon Varlamov of the Avs instead of Sergei Brobovsky from the Jackets and it may have cost them.

Varlamov gave up all three of Finland's Goals as he was just 12 of 15 in the save department before he was pulled. Brobovsky saved all seven of the shots the Fins put on net and a few were of the spectacular variety. The Russian struck in Period One first with Ilya Kovalchuk at the 7:51 mark. The Fins came right back at the 9:18 mark in Period 1 with Juhamatti Aaltonen scoring to make it 1-1. The Fins then get goal #2 late in period 1 at the 17:38 mark behind Mighty Ducks and Fins Great Teemu Selanne to cap the scoring 2-1 after one.

The Fins then just played harder, smarter and with more urgency as the Russians looked as though we are playing at home and we will come back at some point. Fins Net Minder Rask stopped 37 of 38 shots as the Russians put more on net in the 3rd frame then in the first two periods. Each Team scored on the Power Play as the Fins get goal #3 in the 2nd period at the 5:37 mark off of Wild Forward Mikael Granlund.

Now the Fins will face the #1 Seeded Swedes on Friday as we get down to the "Frozen Four" Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Style.

Russian Stars Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Ovechkin, and Geno Malkin did not perform like many at least from the Russian side had hoped and they needed them three to play "BIG" and for the most part they did not...
