The Swedish were just too powerful for the Slovenians as Slovenia had a nice run behind Star Winger and LA Kings Royalty Anze Kopitar. The game was nip and tuck through the first period until the Swede's Alexander Steen scored at the 18:50 mark in Period 1 to give Sweden a 1-0 lead.

There was no scoring in the 2nd period as Slovenia played their game and kept the Swede's out of the middle of the ice. Then in the 3rd period with Swedish Net Minder and New York Rangers Captain Save-A-Puck Henrik Lundqvist on his A-Game Swede gets four goals in the 3rd and final period to put the game away. The Canucks Sedin Twins (Daniel) scored to make it 2-0 at the 1:42 mark in the 3rd and then it was an avalanche from there. Loui Eriksson scored to make it 3-0 at the 8:50 mark with Carl Hagelin scoring the last two goals to blank Slovenia 5-0.

The Slovenians looked like they were worn down in the 3rd frame as a lack of depth and Star Kopitar logging all that Ice time caught up with them. Swedish Net Minder Lundqvist stopped all 19 shots by Slovenia. Slovenia's Goalie Robert Krsitan stopped 33 of 38 shots facing double what Lundqvist had to face.

Sweden will face the winner of the Russia and Finland Quarterfinal as we move to the Medal Rounds Shortly.

360 Degrees....Sweden's Erik Karlsson is tied with Team USA's Phil Kessel of the Leafs with 7 points to lead the Olympic Games. Karlsson had 3 goals 4 assists with Kessel 4 goals 3 assists.
