The St. Louis Cardinals won two of three from the BUCCOS as there are no moral victories in a series but both Redbirds wins came via Extra Frames. The Redbirds get a walk-off single by RF Matt Holliday in the 12th to get the "W" 6-5 as both starters didn't bring their"A" Game as expected.

The Pirates Starter A.J. Burnett was lit up through just 4 1/3 innings as he allowed five runs on eight hits with one walk as he struck out four. The Redbirds Starter Lance Lynn went 5 1/3 innings and didn't fare any better than Burnett as he gave up four runs on eight hits while striking out six.

The Pirates get two bombs from Russell Martin a Solo Shot and Clint Barmes as he went two-run bomb. Buccos Pinch-Hitter and RF Jose Tabata went 3 for 3 as he platooned with Andrew Lambo who went 1 for 2 scoring a run.

The Redbirds Offense was all over the place as they get a an All-Star Performance from All-Star Second Baseman Matt Carpenter as he went 4 for 5 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a double. Cards CF John Jay and RF Holliday backed that up both getting two hits apiece.

The Buccos came into Baseball Town USA two games up and leave the same. The Redbirds are two games back of the Buccos and just 1 up on the Red Legs for the #1 Slot in the NL Wild Card. The Buccos host the D-Backs on the Weekend with the Cards traveling to the "Friendly Confines" on the North Side.
