The Earned Run Average is a huge factor in the Cy Young Award but most importantly the lower it is with good run support the better your Record is and your Team's Record. The Top Ten Pitchers in the Show for 2013 holding down the Top ERA's have a shot at the Cy Young and there is a lot more to the equation but a solid ERA is an excellent starting point.

"Give Me the Right or Lefty" Top 2013 ERA's through August 17, 2013

Kershaw is lights out and gunning for #2 NL Cy Young Award and in many circles believed to be the best on the Bump in the Show...and rightfully so!

Harvey has been spectacular on the Bump for the Metropolitans and he will only get better. Watch for the other Amazins' Rook RHP Zach Wheeler who isn't Ramen Noodles on the Bump!

Kuroda has carried the Bronx Bombers Staff as Yanks Ace of Jordan Brand C.C. Sabathia has struggled.

Fernandez has been the only bright spot for the Fightin' Fish in that Rotations but at least the Marlins have a #1 on that Rotation for 2014.

Kid Felix gets the Big Dollars because of a 1206 and a sparkling 2.47 ERA. M's Nation just hopes when they turn the corner and start heading North the Kid doesn't get that Freddie Garcia "Dead Arm" because of those Innings accumulated over the years.

Mr. Corbin at one time in the season before the break was going to be the first Pitcher in both leagues to Ten Wins. Now at 12-3 that is still excellent stuff but Wow what happened to getting close to twenty wins.

Anibal Sanchez flies under the "Mad Max of Comerica in Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander Radar but Tiger Foes know exactly who he is. Sanchez believe it or not is the Tigers Leader in ERA in 2013 with Scherzer at 2.85 as we go to press and Verlander at 3.51...Ouch!

Yu Darvish...enough said! A one man "Category 5" on the Bump as he has been stellar and no one wants to see Darvish on the mound in October....Texas has a Baaaaaaaaaaad Man!

Wainright is the Redbirds Leader and he will get the Stitched One in Game one if they get to the "Fight for October". He is all what you ant in a #1...Innings Eaters, excellent K-BB Ratio, takes the Stitched One every 5th day with no Problem, and competes as well as a leader in the Dugout for that Staff.

Bumgarner with all those Gigantes Arms has been the one constant and Bochy and the group have had some kind of run in the last few season getting Two Chips. They are allowed to take a year off or have an off year. The "Bum" has been special on the Bump for #OrangeOctober" redgardless!
